About
Me

Hello, my name is Chase. I reside in Peterborough, ON with my wife and two sons. I am an emerging museum professional currently enrolled in the Museum Management and Curatorship graduate certificate program at Fleming College. I previously graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from Queen’s University in 2017 with a major in history and a minor in classical studies.

Studying at Queen’s got me acquainted with working with primary and secondary historical sources, as well as how to think critically about information. While attending Queen’s, I was also able to participate in the archaeological excavation of an ancient Etruscan site in Italy under the guidance of the university’s Classics department. From this experience, I was taught applied excavation techniques and got to witness on-site artifact conservation efforts. After graduating, I worked in the retail and hospitality sector. This allowed me to gain experience in customer service management.

After working through the COVID-19 pandemic in customer service, I decided I wanted to shift gears and work in the heritage/museum sector. Since being part of the MMC program, I have gotten to do hands-on volunteer work with Hutchison House Museum, Peterborough Museum and Archives, and Lang Pioneer Village Museum. I plan to continue volunteering to expand my experience in the heritage sector.

My favourite activity is taking my two children out on community outings. We visit different historical and natural sites around the city of Peterborough. I enjoy getting my kids into history and being involved in the community.
